Brazil’s Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes ordered the arrest of the 70-year-old former president of the country, citing concerns of him being a potential flight risk. Bolsonaro, who had been under house arrest for more than 100 days, is now awaiting the final appeal of his prison sentence which includes charges of plotting a coup. During a 30-minute hearing, Bolsonaro defended his actions, claiming he never intended to flee the country or tamper with the ankle monitor. He attributed his behavior to a combination of anticonvulsant drugs prescribed by different doctors.
