Since January 1, 2026, motorcycles, mopeds, tricycles, and scooters up to 150cc and six years or older are now exempt from the Property Tax on Motor Vehicles (IPVA) in Goiás. Owners of vehicles that fall into these categories do not need to make the payment in 2026. The measure is provided for in Law No. 23,287/2025, sanctioned by Governor Ronaldo Caiado in March last year. The exemption will benefit 260,000 vehicles manufactured between 2012 and 2020. Vehicles manufactured in 2011 or earlier are already covered by the benefit applied to those with 15 years or more of use.
