Ahead of Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva’s upcoming visit to India, Embraer is enhancing its connections with the country. The aerospace company recently announced the establishment of a final assembly line in collaboration with the Adani Group. An executive-level delegation from Embraer has initiated efforts to broaden and reinforce its supply chain in India, a vital component for the final assembly line where aircraft parts are assembled. Roberto Chaves, EVP of global procurement and supply chain at Embraer, expressed the company’s commitment to collaborating with India’s aerospace industry, emphasizing the importance of joint initiatives in defence and civil aviation.

Embraer’s commitment to enhancing industrial cooperation between Brazil and India is evident through its exploration of new business opportunities and deepening of partnerships. The company has been evaluating potential suppliers in India, focusing on a variety of capabilities such as aerostructures assembly, machining, metal forming, composites, wiring systems, and hardware and software development. By establishing a dedicated local procurement team and inaugurating an office in New Delhi, Embraer aims to strengthen its presence in the Asia-Pacific region and implement a comprehensive local supply chain program in India.

India holds strategic importance for Embraer across its business segments, with a fleet of over 44 aircraft currently in operation in the country. These aircraft serve a diverse range of customers in commercial aviation, executive aviation, and defence & security sectors. Notable examples include five Embraer VIP jets utilized by the Indian government and three EMB 145 AEW ‘Netra’ aircraft operated by the Indian Air Force.

The visit by Embraer’s executives underscores the company’s enduring commitment to the Indian market and its goal of fostering sustainable cooperation. With a focus on technological innovation and operational excellence, Embraer aims to contribute to India’s aerospace industry’s advancement and participate in shaping the future of the sector.
