India and Brazil are currently working on a series of agreements that are expected to be signed during the official visit of Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva to India. The proposed pacts aim to enhance pharmaceutical exports, strengthen cooperation in critical minerals, and provide support to the civil aviation sector, as reported by ET. The visit is set to take place from February 18 to 22. Brazil also intends to strengthen people-to-people connections by introducing a 10-year multiple-entry visa system for Indian tourists, stated Brazil’s ambassador to India, Kenneth H da Nobrega, in an interview with ET preceding the visit. Nobrega also mentioned that Brazil is simplifying business visa regulations for Indian professionals in light of the increasing bilateral trade and investment activities. According to Nobrega, an MoU in the health sector is anticipated to benefit both nations. Brazil’s healthcare system has a demand for large quantities of medicines, and Indian pharmaceutical exporters have a competitive edge in meeting this demand due to their pricing advantage.
