Lightning struck near a rally of supporters of Brazil’s former far-right president Jair Bolsonaro in Brasilia on Sunday, injuring 89 people, according to the fire department. Thousands of supporters gathered in the rain in Brasilia to show their solidarity towards Bolsonaro, who was sentenced to 27 years in prison following his election defeat. Videos circulating online captured the moment when lightning struck, startling the crowds who were equipped with umbrellas and ponchos for the rainy weather. The fire department disclosed that they provided medical assistance to 89 individuals, with 47 of them needing to be transported to hospitals for further treatment. Among the injured, eleven individuals required more intensive medical care.
