Protesters adorned in yellow and green, representing the national flag, marched in Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Brasilia to express their disapproval of current President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, who faces a challenging re-election bid in October. Flavio Bolsonaro, the ex-president’s son and chosen candidate against Lula, emphasized on Instagram before the rally that ‘this year will be decisive for all Brazilians,’ underscoring the campaign’s significance in ‘rescuing our Brazil.’ Flavio has been actively working to unite the right-wing behind his candidacy in opposition to Lula, who plans to run for a fourth, non-consecutive term.
