Uploading via FTP

  • Download the zipped theme pack to your computer from themeforest and extract the ZIP file to a folder on your computer.
  • In the extracted folder you will find 'mystique_wp.zip'. Extract this file .
  • Using an FTP client to access your host web server
  • Upload the Theme files in the extracted folder called 'Mystique_wp' to wp-content/themes directory provided by WordPress.
  • Visit Admin panel -> Appearance -> Themes, look for the Mystique theme thumbnail, then click the Activate button to activate the theme.

Installing From the WordPress Dashboard

  • Download the zipped theme pack to your local computer from themeforest and extract the ZIP file contents to a folder on your local computer.
  • Log into your WordPress admin panel and click on the “Appearance” tab.
  • Now click on the "Add New" button.
  • Click on the "Upload" tab, click "Choose File" and select mystique_wp.zip in the extracted folder then click "Open".
  • Click the "Install Now" button.
  • Activate the theme from this page by clicking "Activate", or "Return to Themes Page" and activate from there

Manually Upload XML File

This Method will import posts, pages, menus only not the demo site theme settings.

  • Go to Admin panel -> Tools -> Import -> WordPress
  • Install the plugin.
  • Use it to upload the demo content XML file in the theme package.

1. Go to Dashboard > Tools > Import and Click on Wordpress and Install it.

2. Choose a content_data.xml file from your download package and then click on Upload file and Import

3. Assign Authors and start import, click on Submit

4. This process may take a while on some hosts, so please be patient. (some hosts between 5-6 minutes)

If you are migration from a theme which used the native featured images functionality of WordPress, please use the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin to resize all the thumbnails. Click the link above and download the free plugin, and read through the steps it contains, it has all the information you need.

Setup A New Menu

  1. Navigate to Apperance -> Menus page
  2. Click the "create a new menu" link to make a new menu. Enter the name then hit Create Menu
  3. To add a menu item, you can easily select one of your already made pages on the left hand side and click Add to Menu. You can also add menu items by entering a custom name and custom link into the Links box. To create a megamenu, see Categories Mega Menus.
  4. You can manage your menus using the drag and drop functionality. To create a dropdown menu, simply drag a menu item below and slightly to the right of another menu item and it will lock into place and create a dropdown section.
  5. After setting up your menu, select menu location in the Menu Settings (Top Menu for navigation in top bar and Main Menu for main navigation below header)
  6. Once its all done, make sure you click the Save button.
  7. You can change menus locations at any time from Manage Locations tab .

Categories Mega Menus

The theme features a mega menu for category menu items to display latest posts in the corresponding category

  • Add the Category you want to the menu.
  • In the setting panel of category menu item there will be a checkbox called Kid Megamenu.
  • Check it if you want to make that category menu item a megamenu or uncheck to make it a normal menu item.
  • Don't forget to set the menu location to Main Menu by clicking checkbox Main Menu in Theme locations section of Menu Settings.
  • Click Save Menu to finish.
Both megamenu and normal menu items can have child menu.

The theme has a widgetized homepage that you can easy build your content by drag and drop widgets into homepage sections .

Drag and Drop Homepage Builder

  1. Go to Admin panel -> Pages -> Add new to create a new page.
  2. Enter title for your homepage, example: Home Page. In the Page Attributes box, select Home page in Template option then click Publish.
  3. Now let's go to Admin panel -> Appearance -> Widgets to build your homepage content.
  4. The theme homepage has four sections: two sections fullwidth at top and bottom, one content section and one sidebar section
  5. To start building homepage content, drag Module widgets on the left into desire sections. [Full-width module] can only be placed in Full-width sections (top and bottom), while [Content module] can only be placed in Content section. Modules with [Full-width module] and [Content module]can be placed in both Full-width and Content section. .
  6. Custom widgets (have name starts with "Kid: Widget") and default WordPress widgets can be placed in Home sidebar or Page sidebar. Home sidebar will display on homepage and Page sidebar will display on the other pages. If one of the sidebars is not active (not have widget in it), the other sidebar will be called instead.
  7. Once you finish building the homepage content, go to Settings -> Reading to set up your homepage.
  8. In Front page displays option, choose A static page. In Frontpage option below, choose the page that you have just created in the steps above, example: Home Page. Click Save changes.
  9. Go to your site home url to check if your homepage has been set.

Configuration

It's very and flexible to config there module. The most important that you can combine these module to create a lot of different site layouts. It's unlimited

Please follow these steps to config a module

  • Drag a module to the properly Widget Holder
  • Then expand the Setting Panel of the module

  • Setup the Title: Every Module has a field that allow you to put a specific title
  • Post Source: You can select one or multiple category for your module
  • Number of Entries: Set number of post to be displayed for the module
  • Post Offset: Some of modules support this option. You can read more about this option here
  • Number of Entries to Load More: there are 3 modules support this option: Masonry, Classic Blog, Large Blog
  • Excerpt Length: this option allow you to setup the excerpt length. Eg: 25 means 25 words

The theme will auto generate a logo for your site base on the site title, but it's recommended that you upload your own logo.

  1. Navigate to Theme Options -> Header Settings tab .
  2. In the Site logo section click Upload button and select your logo image.
  3. Once uploaded click Save changes button to save your site logo.

  1. Navigate to Appearance -> Customize .
  2. In the Customize Page, Click Site Identity, then click Select Image to upload your Favicon Image.
  3. Once uploaded click Save & Publish button to save your site Favicon.

All of your posts must have a featured images .. these images will appears in the slider , post modules , sidebar .. etc

The recommended size for the Featured images is 1050px x 600px
Theme cropped all uploaded images to fit its places in the theme .. if you have any problems with the size of old images which uploaded before install the theme you need to use Regenerate Thumbnails Plugin or AJAX Thumbnail Rebuild Plugin to regenerate thumbnails with suitable sizes .

Post format

The theme support 5 WordPress post formats: Standard, Gallery, Video, Image, Audio.

Add or edit format of a post

  • In post edit page, choose post format in the Format box on the right.
  • Enter information for the corresponding format options in KID Post format options box:
    • Post format video and audio: enter the url of the video or audio item. The theme support link from Youtube, Vimeo and Souncloud.
    • Post format image: click Select files button to select images or drag images in to image upload area to upload image to the post.
    • Post format gallery: click Select or Upload images button to add a gallerry to the post.

Adding a Review Post

  1. From the KID Review System box in the post edit page .
  2. Tick the checkbox Enable Review On This Post.
  3. Enter the criteria name and use the slider to adjust rating score. The Final average score will be calculated automatically.
  4. You can have up to 6 criteria in a review box.
  5. Type the Summary textarea your summary for the review item. You can create lists of pros and cons in here.
  6. Click Publish or Update button to save.

Full-width Post

You can make a post full-width by ticking Make this post full-width checkbox

Category layout

You can choose layout for each category.

  1. In Admin panel, go to Posts -> Categories
  2. Click a category to edit it
  3. In Category edit page, choose a desire layout for current category in Category layout option
  4. Click update to save

Choose site color scheme

  • In Admin panel, go to Theme Options -> General Settings tab
  • Here you can choose a primary color for your site.
  • Click Save changes to save setting.

Site Typography

  • Navigate to Theme Options -> Typography settings .
  • Choose font options for your site. The theme supports all Google Fonts. Header font affects menu titles, category titles and module titles. Title font affects post titles. Text font affects text body, excerpt...
  • Click Save changes to save settings.

Page Settings

  • Navigate to Theme Options -> Page settings .
  • Here you can setup to enable/disable sticky sidebar, choose a specific layout for the Page: Category Page, Author Page, Archive Page, Search Page ...
  • Then click Save Changes to save settings.

Single Settings

  • Navigate to Theme Options -> Single settings .
  • You can see the general Setting of Single page here.
  • After make any change, please click Save Changes to save settings.
  • Navigate to Theme Options -> Footer settings .
  • Footer Instagram Setting: Click Enable, then the Footer Instagram Setting will be appeared. Please put the title, the username of Instagram, then click Save Changes to save the Settings
  • Here, you also can Enable/Disable the Scroll Top button and setup the Footer Copyright Text
  • After make any change, please click Save Changes to save settings.

Add a banner header

  • In Admin panel, go to Theme Options -> Header Settings tab
  • In Enable Header Banner option, click Enable.
  • Enter the url for banner image and Ads link.
  • Click Save changes to save setting.

Add Google AdSense code to header

  • In Admin panel, go to Theme Options -> Header Settings tab
  • In Enable Header Banner option, click Enable.
  • Enter the Google Adsense code into Google Adsense code textarea.
  • Click Save changes to save setting.

Top bar social icons

  • Navigate to Theme Options -> Header settings .
  • In Enable topbar social, click Enable.
  • Fill in the full url of each media social item.
  • Click Save changes to save settings.

Enable fixed header

  • Navigate to Theme Options -> Header settings .
  • In Enable fixed header option, click Enable.
  • Click Save changes to save settings.

In Admin panel, go to Theme Options -> Site Layout tab. Here you can set up your site layout.

Boxed And Wide

Site layout section allow you to switch between boxed and wide layout. When boxed layout is chosen, an option for setting site background will appear. Select a color for your site background of click Upload button to use a image instead.

Responsive

You can enable or disable Responsive layout by simply clicking the switch in Enable Reponsive option. You can also choose to display or hide sidebar when in responsive mode.

The theme supports 3 sidebars: Homepage Sidebar for site front-page and Page Sidebar for the other pages, Single Sidebar for Single Page. If you don't setup this sidebar, then the Single Page will use the Home Sidebar or Page Sidebar. The priority for the sidebars: Home Sidebar, Page Sidebar, Single Sidebar.

This theme may be updated periodically in order to add new features and fix bugs. When a new update be available an update message will appears on your WordPress dashboard . As a customer, you can download the most current version from your ThemeForest account.

Updating Automatically

Envato have developed the Envato Toolkit Plugin for WordPress. You can use this to receive notification of updates to themes purchased from ThemeForest and to automatically update (upon clicking) directly from within your WordPress admin area.

  • Download the plugin zip file to your computer.
  • In your WordPress admin area, go to Plugins -> Add New then click Upload.
  • Click Choose File, select the plugin zip file you downloaded and click Install Now.
  • After installation, click Activate.
  • Click the new Envato Toolkit link in the menu and follow the instructions to configure the plugin.

Updating Manually

  • Download the most current version from ThemeForest in the "Downloads" area of your account.
  • Unzip the package and locate Mystique_wp.zip in the theme folder.
  • Go to Appearance -> Themes and activate another theme such as the default WordPress theme.
  • Delete the Mystique theme which is now inactive.
  • Go to Install Themes -> Upload then install and activate Mystique_wp.zip from the new package.

Mystique is able to be translated into any language. The process of translating the theme is a user responsibility. The following instructions are given as guidance.

  1. Open wp-config.php and replace this: define ('WPLANG', ''); with this (subsitute the language string (bg_BG) with your own!): define ('WPLANG', 'bg_BG');
  2. Download and install POEDIT
  3. Connect to your site -> open your theme/languages directory
  4. Look for the mystique.pot file in theme package and open it with POEDIT.
  5. Translate file and save it as bg_BG (the file name must match with the string you inserted into wp-config.php)
  6. Two files will be generated after save. bg_BG.po and bg_BG.mo
  7. Upload the .mo and .po files into wp-content/themes/your-theme/languages folder
